The mission of the Ironton Police Department is to work together with our citizens to keep Ironton a safe place to live, work and play. By working with local, state, and national agencies, we also actively work to suppress drunk and impaired driving incidents and the illicit drug trade.

Another goal of our department is to help protect the children of Ironton. We do this through a number of community initiatives such as school presentations and community education initiatives. Our end goal is to help them flourish in safe, supportive neighborhoods which in turn enables them to grow into productive adults and citizens.

Be sure to like and follow the Ironton Police Department on Facebook to welcome our new officers as well as get the latest details and news that matters in your neighborhood.

NOTE: If a crime or other suspicious activity is happening right now, call (740) 532-3525 or 9-1-1. The Ironton Police Department Tip Line number is not for reporting any activity “in progress.” The Tip Line does not connect to police dispatch.

We depend on your help to prevent crime and spot problems or violations in Ironton. You may have seen something or know about something that solves a major crime, saves someone’s life, or makes your neighborhood a better place for everyone. We can help, but we need a place to start. If you see something, say something.

Call our anonymous tip line at (740) 532-3525. You can use this number to give us a confidential and anonymous tip about any kind of crime or suspicious activity that you or someone else saw earlier. You can share anything. No information is too small or unimportant. Please describe the location of the incident and any details you can provide about the person and the circumstances. We will follow up on all tips you provide. No one will contact you or know who you are unless you want us to.

Providing your name and contact information is optional but helpful. If we have questions we may want to contact you later by phone, e-mail or by any method you choose. If you choose to leave your name, please use your real name, phone number, and/or e-mail address.

This is not a crime report form. If you are the victim of a crime and want to report it, please call our administrative office at 740-532-2338 Monday through Friday from 8am-4pm.

Thank you for helping us make Ironton a safer place to live, work, and play.
