Requirements & Qualifications
- Associate Degree or higher in a criminal justice or social science field.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Proficient in standard clerical practices, Google Workspace, and the operation of basic office equipment.
- Familiarity with court proceedings and legal terminology is preferred.
- Experience with grant facilitation and compliance is preferred.
- Ability to follow instructions both verbally and in written form.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Self-guided, motivated, and a strong desire to create a positive impact in the lives of the individuals served.
- Shall portray and demonstrate professional demeanor during all interactions.
- Maintain confidentiality of clients served.
- Individuals must obtain ORAS certification within 60 days of hiring.
- Individuals must complete 12 hours of Changing Offender Behavior (COB) eligible training per year.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Works directly with justice-involved individuals to ensure client-centered care and support by assisting individuals on court-ordered probation with connections to community resources as identified in the individual’s success plan.
- Develops and maintains positive working relationships with service-based community organizations and external service providers, such as treatment providers, workforce development, housing providers, non-profit organizations, and other community resources.
- Assists the CCA Program Director and Recovery Program Administrator by ensuring program policy and procedure compliance, facilitation of program goals, and development of new programs and initiatives.
- Assists the Probation Department by performing client intakes and monthly check-in processes as needed.
- Updates case management system (OCSS) to reflect client progress, contact notes, and referrals.
- Other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
- Work involves a significant amount of standing, walking, sitting, talking, listening, stooping, crouching, and reaching with hands and arms.
- Ability to sit continuously at a computer terminal for periods of up to two hours.
- Ability to reach into file drawers in standard four-drawer filing cabinets.
- Visual ability sufficient to effectively operate a copier, fax machine, and a computer terminal, and to read reports, correspondence, and instructions.
- Hearing ability sufficient to converse with other individuals, both in person and by telephone.
- Speaking ability sufficient to communicate effectively with other individuals in person and by telephone.
- Ability to read and prepare reports with recommendations.
- Performance of essential functions requires exposure to accused and convicted criminal offenders.
- Ability to defend self and others from physical attack.
- Ability to operate an automobile.
- Ability to effectively perform assigned duties in a work environment that typically involves frequent distractions and interruptions.
Compensation & Benefits
- The Client Support Coordinator is a part-time (25 hours per week) grant-funded position.
- Compensation: $25 per hour to be paid bi-weekly.
- Employer-sponsored retirement plan (OPERS) – 14% employer contribution.
- Work Schedule: Thursday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. is required. Other hours are flexible during court operating hours, M, T, W, F 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
- Some weekends or evening hours may be required for community events.
Location & Work Type
- The majority of the time will be spent in the office, and occasionally require attendance at community events.
- Some travel may be required.
- Some public speaking may be required.
