RESOLUTION NO. 21-41
OPPOSING SENATE BILL 111 AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, the Ohio Legislature is considering the adoption of Senate Bill 111, which would cut in half the ARAP funds originally designated for the City of Ironton, as well as other small cities and villages in the State; and,
WHEREAS, such a cut would cause an extensive financial burden to the City’s financial condition; and,
WHEREAS, the citizens of Ironton will be adversely impacted by said cut, as well as the citizens of other small cities and villages throughout the State; and,
WHEREAS, these communities have made financial plans and commitments based upon the originally designated funding.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF IRONTON, OHIO:
SECTION I: That the City of Ironton hereby opposes the adoption of Senate Bill 111 and urges our State Senators and State Representatives to vote against said bill.
SECTION II: That the Clerk of Council is hereby directed to send a copy of this resolution to Representatives Baldridge and Stevens and to Senators Peterson and Johnson.
SECTION III: This Resolution shall be declared an emergency necessary for the protection of the health, safety and welfare of the residents of the City of Ironton, Ohio.
