ORDINANCE NO. 20-41

EXTENDING THE MAXIMUM AGE LIMITATION FOR AN ORIGINAL APPOINTMENT TO THE IRONTON POLICE DEPARTMENT AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Ironton, State of Ohio, desires to expand the pool of applicants for the City Police; and,

WHEREAS, Ohio Revised Code Section 124.41 permits Council, by ordinance, to establish a different maximum age limitation for an original appointment to the Police Department; and,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF IRONTON, OHIO:

SECTION I: The maximum age for a person to be eligible to receive an original appointment to the Ironton Police Department is hereby established at 40 years of age.

SECTION II: That this Ordinance is hereby declared an emergency measure necessary for the public peace, welfare and safety of the Citizens of the City of Ironton, Ohio.
