AMENDED ORDINANCE NO. 20-31

SETTING RATES FOR THE SALE OF WATER FOR CUSTOMERS OF TANKER TRUCKS AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS,    the City sells water to tanker trucks; and,

WHEREAS,    adequate rates need to be established for the sale of such water;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF IRONTON, STATE OF OHIO:

SECTION I:                 Each customer purchasing water for a tanker truck shall pay a one-time service charge of $10.00 to set up an account with the City.

SECTION II:                $2.50 of said service charge is hereby earmarked for the City’s Administrative Fee and $7.50 is hereby earmarked for the maintenance of the station site where tanker trucks are loaded.

SECTION III:              That customers shall pay the rate of $10.00 per one thousand gallons of water sold to the customer of a tanker truck.

SECTION IV:               The $10.00 per gallon cost shall increase annually on January 1 of each year at a rate of 1.5% or the Consumer Price Index increase of the previous year, whichever is greater.

SECTION V:                That this Ordinance is hereby declared an emergency measure necessary for the public peace, welfare and safety of the Citizens of the City of Ironton, Ohio.
