RE: FREE lead and copper sampling at your residence
Pursuant to the “Lead and Copper Rule”, established in 1991, water systems are required to collect samples to test for the presence of lead and copper in the water distribution systems. In the case of the City of Ironton, thirty (30) samples need to be collected and sent to an independent laboratory for analysis.
If you would like to have your water tested, we would appreciate assistance in collecting these samples. We will send the samples to be analyzed at no cost to you and will hand-deliver the results as we get them from the laboratory, with the actual results we receive from them. The Ohio EPA will also receive the exact same results you will get.
This is a great opportunity to have a detailed analysis of the water that is coming directly from your faucet.
If you are interested in this opportunity, please call the Ironton Water Treatment Plant at 740-532-3412. Our staff will deliver the sample collection information to you.
This study is capped at a limited number of samples, so if interested, please contact water plant staff at your earliest convenience to ensure your selection as a sample location.
Thank you for any assistance!
