RESOLUTION NO. 21-34
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF A
COMPETITIVE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT APPLICATION
FOR THE GTL LUMBER EXPANSION PROJECT

Whereas, the State of Ohio makes funds available on a competitive basis under its Economic Development Community Development Block Grant Program for the purpose of assisting businesses in expansion and the creation of jobs, and
Whereas, GTL Lumber is proposing such an expansion that would allow for the retention and creation of jobs within 18 months of the project completion, of which at least 51% will be made available for individuals from low and moderate income households, and
Whereas, the City of Ironton contracts the Ironton and Lawrence County Area Community Action Organization (CAO) to administer said grant should the City be awarded funding.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Ironton, Ohio;
Section 1. That the Mayor of the City of Ironton be authorized to execute and submit
an application for the said Community Development Block Grant Funds.
Section 2. That should said funding be granted by the State of Ohio, the Mayor of the
City of Ironton is authorized to execute all documents necessary to administer
said grant program.
Section 3. That the Mayor be authorized to negotiate a contract with the Ironton and
Lawrence County Area Community Action Organization (CAO) to act in
behalf of the City of Ironton by Delegation Agreement to administer and
implement said grant program.
This resolution is hereby adopted on this _______ day of June 2021 by action of the
Council of the City of Ironton, Ironton, Ohio.
