ORDINANCE NO. 21-02

AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF IRONTON AN AMENDMENT TO THE COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE FRATERNAL ORDER OF POLICE, OHIO LABOR COUNCIL, INC. AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, the City of Ironton, Ohio and the Fraternal Order of Police have entered into an amendment to the Collective Bargaining Agreement which is effective from April 1, 2020 through March 31, 2023; and,

WHEREAS, the same needs to be ratified by this Council; and,

WHEREAS, the Mayor has submitted the proposed amendment for approval of Council.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF IRONTON, OHIO:

SECTION I:

The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the City of Ironton, Ohio an amended collective bargaining agreement between the City of Ironton, Ohio and the Fraternal Order of Police, Ohio Labor Council, Inc. for a contract beginning April 1, 2020 and ending March 31, 2023, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein.

SECTION II:

That this Ordinance is hereby declared an emergency measure for the protection of the public peace and welfare of the citizens of the City of Ironton, Ohio.
